Tonight, for the first time as a family we watched an entire movie together.
"Babe" was on TV and the kids got quite interested.
We haven't yet taken them to the movies because they dont tend to sit still for long enough. So I waited to see if anyone would fall asleep or get bored, but nope they just sat and watched. It was funny seeing their reaction to commercials though - "oh is it finished?" DVDs don't have ads!
Then Daddy got the lollies out- he gave them one lolly each, a wrapped chew.
Miss A was so cute when given a wrapped lolly. "How do I open it?"
I watched as she very slowly unwrapped and twisted one end until it was so tight she couldn't open it. She then tried the other end and finally got the idea that you only unwrap to a certain point. Then she looked at it trying to find the crease. Once she did that her fingers then she has to pull it open enough to get the lolly out. Such an intricate slow procedure that she focused on only because it was well worth it.
Then she really surprised me by saying "Look Mum a yellow rectangle."
Wow
movie night was well worth it and even though the kids did get up and walk around it felt like such a normal family night.
It's the little things...
