A visit to the chiro

A friend of mine is a chiropractor and I have seen her for myself over the years. When Miss L was born she was posterior and suffered a stiff neck. She favoured one side and no matter how hard the physio tried we couldn't correct it. I asked my friend Catherine if there was anything she could do as a chiro. ( http://www.kingsleychiropractic.com.au/) We went in and in the first appointment I could see changes. She readjusted her neck and spine and straight away she had more movement and was more relaxed. We had another appt and it was completely fixed. I was apprehensive at first at seeing such a tiny baby being adjusted but when I saw what she actually had to do  and what the results were I was won over. There was no cracking or manipulation just gentle massage and stretches then she used the chiropractic adjuster tool:
It made such a difference that I'm glad I did it and since thing I recommend chiro all the time.

In all of her photos before being adjusted she had her head tilted way back and always on the same side, even when feeding she fought to go back to her favourite side.

Since then I haven't really thought that L needed chiro even though I've gone back over the years. Recently I pinched 2 nerves in my left leg called sciatica and went back to Dr Catherine Horgan to get adjusted. While there we were talking about Miss L and she was the one that gave me the book to read about neuroplasticity. I mentioned her new diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos and we talked about her hip  being clicky and she said if she wanted me to check her over she would. That's what I love and offer of advice or help without being pushy or saying she can work miracles.

So today we went along for a visit and Miss L had a ball. She didn't stay still for long so Catherine had to work quickly and in different positions but she looked her over. She mentioned a trouble spot in her back on her left side, near that clicky hip and also at the top of the neck. That spot is near where all the spinal nerves collect and is responsible for among other things balance and vertigo. After checking her over she used the adjustor tool to play games with Miss L. She loved the pop noise it made and was very relaxed when Catherine used it on her. I was happy to see she was happy during the adjustment and after. For a child that sees lots of Doctors and therapists she can be a bit funny when something new happened.

After that Catherine adjusted me while Miss L "helped" push the tool and played around....maybe she will grow up to be in the medical field after all she had been through? She walked out with a sticker and a big smile on her face. Couldn't ask for more. I will keep you updated on how she goes with it all.

Dead to the world in the car still holding her baby and hair clip.

This is my own opinion and our experiences with chiro.
