Miss A is so tired at the moment and really isn't coping with school. Yesterday she had an epic meltdown of 1hr 20min and remained angry for even longer. I was physically sore and emotionally drained. I had to drag her to the car with L on my hip and J walking behind. I then had to force her into her car seat when she proceeded to kick the crap out of poor J.
We finally had her settled at night and talked and talked. This is the first time she has really tried to explain why she is upset.
She kept telling me she hates school and asked to go back to little 3 year old kindy. She said the kids were mean and she wasn't happy.
It really hurt to listen to her and she couldn't understand that school is a must. We just have to go.
So last night I put her to bed earlier but she just played around. When we got up this morning I didn't wake her. She eventually woke at 8 and came out and asked me where we were going. She got angry when I said school but she started to calm down the more I talked. We didn't rush, I didn't watch the clock and we took our time. In the end she was ready to leave at 8:15 and she ate her toast in the car. It felt more relaxed and she was happier. We got to class and she was sad when we walked in and she didn't want to even look at jer teachers. We sat and did a puzzle and she seemed quiet. The best bit was when the bell rang she kissed me goodbye and walked away.
She hasn't done that in nearly 3 weeks.
I'm hoping these little changes mean a happier day and no meltdown this afternoon.
