Well Miss L was sick- quite sick. She had a cough and temps up to 40oC. So NYE was keeping an eye on her, giving her showers and having her sleep in our room. On New Year's Day I took her to the after hours GP who said if her temp wasn't down by the next day then straight to hospital. It was at that time time that a group I'm in had a crisis call from a mum in need. I've never met her and can't go into detail but we pulled together to do what we could. I was ringing and texting the Mum and agencies to see what could be done.
Miss L started to get better and then this situation withe the Mum ramped up. I spent 4 days nearly ignoring my family to help out :(
It was a tough time and as a group we were all affected. What made me really angry was how many agencies, important lifeline government agencies were on a break over Xmas!
Really families don't need help? At this time of year?!
So now that the situation has been handed over...as much as can be, I am having a break. Or I had planned one.
Then Saturday morning I get hit with a bug. Really, now!?
2 days in bed not eating or drinking. Poor Andrew has been left alone with the kids.
So a new week is starting and a new beginning. Plus we get to pick up our new puppy on Tuesday. Something good to look forward to.
