After calming Miss A down we were only 30 minutes from landing. We started talking about getting off the plane and what happens next. As we started to descend I gave the kids some lolliies to chew but even my ears were popping. We all had a cold flying over so I was conscious of the pressure. After a few minutes J started screaming his ears were hurting and straight off A got upset. She kept tellig him to stop crying as it was upsetting her. J was getting really worked up and nothing I could say or do would help. My ears were painful and I knew what he was going through. So now both kids were upset and we were minutes from landing when L starts screaming! Oh great. I quickly pass Andrew a bottle and she settles as soon as her ears are fixed.
By this time the Mum in front had turned around again asking if I needed help. I was like not unless someone can shoot me an she laughed. It was nice to have someone offer.
When we landed it was about 7:30pm local time and was cold. We explained to the kids we would catch a taxi to our hotel and have dinner. J was excited to be in a taxi and Miss A asked where our car was- didn't it come with us? That cracked us up. The night did settle down after a while and I was very glad when everyone went to bed :)
Let's hope the return flight is more settled.
