So with the hectic last week of term filled with too many appointments and school holidays I am way behind in blogging! I referred to my blog so much in those appts it has become such a handy resource for myself as well as for my readers. So first up the results of our sleep study..
Dr O'Donnell did say the results showed what a rocky night we had. Miss L only had 2 sustained sleep periods which limited her giving us in depth answers. From what she saw Miss L does have restless legs the same as Miss A. Not too many that she would need medication but enough to look at her diet and try to include extra vitamins. Which she knew would be difficult with Miss L's eating difficulties. The graph showed she did get into some solid REM or deep sleep and did have frequent wakings. There was no sign of breathing troubles but she does have large tonsils. Over all the Dr said it was worth doing as it showed she had no major sleep issues and it wasn't the reason for the catch up sleeps she has when regressing. We will keep an eye on the tonsils and breathing as Miss A has the same problem.
For the diet we need to make sure she has adequate iron and magnesium and her blood tests did show borderline low iron and low iron stores. I was glad for once that an appt showed we had nothing wrong and we could move onto the next thing :)
