So, so excited. The link above is to the video. Watch first then read.
Miss L hasn't really shown much interest in walking. The physio and I had a chat about it and she it may be a few things.
She is older and more aware of the dangers.
She has low tone which means loose muscles and joints.
Her core (stomach muscles) still aren't strong so even crawling is hard work.
She is still adjustin to being able to move by crawling.
She did say she hoped to see her starting by Christmas.
Well baby we beat that by a few weeks.
Miss L and I were playing when she decided to take one step forward. I quickly told Andrew to get the camera while we tried again. I put her a little bit in front of me then sat back and waited. Meanwhile Miss A is in the background having a cry, she was very jealous!
The vidoe showed what happened with no prompting she took 3 steps to me!
The hysterical reaction says it all.
It was December 2nd.
In April she was in hospital with a feeding tube. She was barely rolling back to front.
In May I was told she may never walk. She may be in a wheelchair for life intellectually disabled.
My baby has shocked and surprised all those around her- not the least her parents.
After about 10 minutes I broke down. Andrew and I were so happy and he kept saying to me:
"See, all that work has paid off. The ork that you do with her every day."
We are in a partnership and through all of our shit this year we have come together.
I am so grateful.
